Paul's Studio

Paul Wright is a professional artist specialising in murals, Trompe l'Oeil furniture, contemporary oi paintings and watercolour landscapes of Lake Como.

He studied at the Southport College of Art and, as "Beatle-Mania" was about to sweep the world, painted murals in many of the new clubs that were springing up all over Liverpool.

He later became a scenic artist and stage designer for the Liverpool Playhouse Theatre and over the next 16 years worked all over the UK for various, prestigious theatres.  In the early 1980's Paul won the London West End Scenic Art award for 'The Aspen Papers' starring Vanessa Redgrave and Christopher Reeve.

Paul progressed into TV and was part of the design team for 'Dr Who' as well as working in film and, in particular, the multi-million ice ballet based on Tchaikowski's Sleeping Beauty.

Paul established his own studio in the county of Surrey specialising in hand painted interiors and worked for important clients such as Harrods, the Sutton Place Arts Foundation and the Sultan of Brunei.

Since 1991 Paul has lived in northern Italy where he continues to work on the shores of Lake Como.

Paul Wright is also a writer of narrative non-fiction. He has two books on release at the moment available from Amazon paperbacks, Kindle e-books and other outlets.
